Not only that but I was able to get small things like lamps and pictures I got a Fresh Start Voucher for Habitat Restore and was able to secure most of the furniture I didn’t have any furniture since we’d lost everything. After a couple months, I was able toįind a place with the help of Community Action.
I was able to get a job and my kids into school. Within a few days of staying at the shelter "My family was homeless, and we lost everything in the process.
The Fresh Start Program helps those transitioning out of homelessness, recovering from addiction, escaping domestic violence, or facing other challenges with resources to furnish a new home.Ĭlients of Family Promise, Safehouse Services, Recover Wyoming, Community Action of Laramie County, Needs Inc., and The Unaccompanied Students Initiative are issued vouchers, depending on their needs, to purchase furniture and household items from the Habitat ReStore's inventory of items donated from the community and business partners.
